At Baarrooka, we breed high quality suris with a focus on fleece improvement through scientific measurement. Our aim is to be pioneers of a viable commercial suri fleece industry in Australia.

We have a white commercial herd of around 500 animals and a coloured stud herd of a similar size. We have stud males and breeding females in all colours from white, through fawn, brown, roan/rose grey, silver grey, bay black and blue black and even a small herd of appaloosa suris.

We have dispersed the majority of our grey and appaloosa/fancy lines and are offering discounts on our fawns and browns, to concentrate on white and black suris. We have been recognised through showing at National and International level for the elite quality of our fleeces and have been awarded Best Black Suri at the National Show in 4 out of 6 shows we have attended since 2012.

We love talking suri and welcome visitors looking for general information, wanting pets or guards, looking to start a herd or those after elite stock for breeding or export. Come to one of our open days or contact us to book a one-on-one visit.
