About this alpaca
When we imported Durango, we were hoping to be able to breed an alpaca to match one of his sons we had seen in the US. With Foreign Affair, we have all that and more. We believe this male is even better than his sire, with an ultrafine, super-dense fleece and a stellar pedigree.
Foreign Affair was shorn in November 2013 and his fleece analysis (at 19 months of age) was an impressive 15.7, sd 4.2 and CF of 100%.
His show career has been equally impressive – he was never beaten at a show and was awarded numerous National-level Champion and Colour Champions and two Supreme Champions. Foreign Affair was awarded Supreme Brown at Colourbration in 2013 and his fleece was awarded Supreme Brown Fleece at the 2014 Colourbration Show. He achieved the double at the 2014 National Show with Supreme Brown Fleece (plus Res. Champion) and Supreme Brown in the halter class on his regrowth fleece (winning over 4 stunning first-fleeced animals to do so).
His first fleece was awarded Supreme Champion Fleece at the 2015 Sydney Royal Show – quite an achievement for a brown fleece! His second fleece (at 3.5 years of age) was 18.2, sd 4.5 CF 99.0 and CEM 9.1 and was awarded Supreme Champion at the first show entered. Considering it is 2 years of fleece and he is a working male, those stats are quite impressive.
As if having Durango as his sire wasn’t enough, Foreign Affair also has some top Accoyo genetics on his maternal side – Amador, Cadete and Icalon.
This stunning male has his first progeny on the ground – all with excellent density – and will be made available to approved females on a limited basis.
