What a Nationals!
October 15th, 2013 by Julie

Baarrooka is thrilled to announce that Baarrooka Durango’s Echo was awarded Supreme Suri at the 2013 National Show in Bendigo. Whilst we have been awarded broad ribbons at each Show we have attended since 2004, this is our first Supreme. The entire team exceeded our expectations but illustrated the impact the 6 coloured males we imported from USA in 2010 have had on our breeding.

Durango Girls at the National
November 3rd, 2012 by Julie

A photo of the 3 Adult Durango girls. From L to R, Magic, Acclaim and Rosalie. Rosalie was awarded Best Fawn Female and her full brother Best Brown Male. Both are gorgeous.  The two other girls have suffered from tender fleece/rain scald and, although they still look pretty nice were not quite National Show condition, with a lot of broken fleece.

National Show 2012
November 2nd, 2012 by Julie

Well, I left my show catalogue in the Japanese Restaurant, so can only report on what I remember until the results go up on the AAA website.  And, it was such a rush from one end to the other, that I really don’t know how all of the team went.

Firstly, I have to congratulate Surilana on the ‘clean sweep’ of the age Championships (where was the black Senior female????). They are setting the suri Standard that we are all aspiring to.

Here are ‘the main’ results – the ones with photos, at least – more later.

Baarrooka Ultimate Groove - Reserve Champion Intermediate Male

Baarrooka Wild Card - Reserve Champion Senior Male

Baarrooka Breeze Carbon Copy - Best Black in Show

Baarrooka Ultimate Granite - Best Grey in Show

And unfortunately only had one fleece to enter – but it returned very happy!  First 6-18 m Brown, Champion 6-18 months (reserve champion was a black – go colours!) and Best Brown.  This is Baarrooka Navigator – the first Chersam D’Angelo cria born and a super-dense, gorgeous lustrous and locky 6-month-old fleece. Yummo

Seymour and Wangaratta Shows
November 2nd, 2012 by Julie

A small team was taken to Seymour and Wangaratta Shows.  I went to Seymour on my own with a team of 6 (limit of the show convenors).  Only one animal in each section to make it easy, however, hadn’t thought through to the supreme line-up so required some help!  Thanks Trevor and Kaz (giving me a bit of time at the marshall gate), Di and gosh, whoever else I roped in to take animals into the ring, or hold therm outside for me! OK, there weren’t a whole lot of suris entered, but still, we were pleased and proud to receive:

Baarrooka Clementine Glow  1st white Junior female – Champion Junior Female

Baarrooka Bostano   1st White Junior male – Champion Junior Male

Baarrooka Rosalie   1st Fawn Intermediate Female – Champion Intermediate Female

Baarrooka Ultimate Groove  1st Fawn Intermediate Male – Champion Intermediate Male

Baarrooka Durango’s Magic  ist Brown Adult Female – Champion Adult Female

Baarrooka Durango’s Roam  2nd Fawn Adult Male – Reserve Champion Adult Male

So, all but the Adult Male in the Supreme lineup, but the Supreme went to Diane Marshall’s gorgeous male, Tahara Nitere.

Similar results for the Wangaratta Show – had to leave the showing to ‘ The Team’ because I was the convenor, but that was managed pretty well:

Baarrooka Clementine Glow  2nd White Junior Female

Baarrooka Bostano  1st White Junior Male – Champion Junior Male

Baarrooka Rosalie 1st Fawn Intermediate Female – Champion Intermediate Female

Baarrooka Ultimate Groove 1st Fawn Intermediate Male  – Champion Intermediate Male

Baarrooka Durango’s Acclaim  1st Fawn Adult Female – Champion Adult Female

Baarrooka Durango’s Roam 2nd Fawn Adult Male – Reserve Champion Adult Male

Baarrooa Mr Mister  3rd Fawn Senior Male

Again, Tahara Nitere was the Supreme winner. Congrats, Dianne (Grrrrr!! :))

Durango won the Sires Progeny Class and Baarrooka Durango’s Fancy won Best Fancy.
